I got cold feet

Lenka: So did you ask the boss for a raise?
Lukas: I couldn´t get past "how are you".
I went into the office and I got cold feet. I was all set to ask him nicely and show him that I deserved it but I lost my nerve at the last moment.
Lenka: That´s a shame. How did it end?
Lukas: He thanked me for my visit, I smiled and left.
Lenka: Beautiful performance. You should write a textbook on office etiquette.

He´s wrapped around my little finger

Lukas:You got another SMS?
Lenka: Yes, from a new man I´m dating.
Lukas: He must really be in love with you if he sends you so many messages.
Do you like him?
Lenka: Well, he´s rich which is a nice change, and I´ve got him wrapped around my little finger so I can get whatever I want and he´s easy to control.
Lukas: Sounds perfect.
Lenka: Ask me in three months to see if I´m bored with the power.

You´ve put your finger on it

Lenka: Tell me Lukas, why can´t I keep a man for more than three months?
Lukas: You´re too demanding, too strict, you leave them at the slightest imperfection and overall you expect too much.
Lenka: That´s it! Lukas, you just put your finger on it! You really understand my situation.
Lukas: So does that mean you´re going to change?
Lenka: Of course not, I just wanted to hear what I´m doing right.

Never lifts a finger

Lukas: How is your new boyfriend?
Lenka: We split up last week.
Lukas: You split up? But I thought you were living together. I thought this time it was really serious.
Lenka: It was until I realized he is a lazy bum. I do all the work around the flat and he never lifts a finger to help me do anything. So I threw his clothes out the window and kicked him out.
Lukas: Another one bites the dust.
Lenka: That´s right.

Some shuteye

Lenka: Wow, Lukas, you look terrible! Didn´t you get any sleep last night?
Lukas: It was my sister´s birthday so we went to the pub and didn´t get back to the wee hours of the morning. I´m exhausted. I need to get some shut eye.
Lenk: Why don´t you crawl under the desk for a half-hour. I will tell everyone you´re out.
Lukas: I don´t think that would work but thanks for the offer.

See eye-to-eye

Lenka: Lukas, what do you think of this model on the cover of this magazine?
Lukas: She´s pretty.
Lenka: Do you think she´s prettier than me?
Lukas: Lenka, you know that´s impossible.
Lenka: That´s what I like about you Lukas, we always see eye-to-eye.

My eyes are bigger than my stomach

Lukas: What´s the matter, Lenka?
Lenka: I still have a stomachache from the KissmyFeet shoe polish campaign party.I really ate too much. But all the food was so good!
Lukas: I guess your eyes are bigger than your stomach.
Lenka: Don´t remind me of the obvious.

An eyesore

Lenka: Look at that ugly painting in the lobby! It is so ugly! It´s really an eyesore! Who chooses the art in this office?
Lukas: The boss does it himself. He feels that he has an eye for good art.
Lenka: Rather he has an eye for rubbish on the wall.

Rubbing elbows with someone

Lukas: How was the Barrandov film premiere?
Lenka: The film wasn´t great but the party afterwards was really fun. All the stars of the film were there. I was rubbing elbows with everyone. I really felt like someone important.

I had to elbow my way through(the crowd)

Lenka: The underground was terrible today! I had to elbow my way through the crowd just to get off the train!
Lukas: There must have been a festival or something.
Lenka: I don´t know what it was but it was terrible! I´m glad I got to work on time.
